“Omoyai”Nursery School Overview

Eligible Users

The intended users are staff employed by Nagasaki University raising a child from at least 57 days after birth to before elementary school enrollment. Those who wish to use the facility must demonstrate that it is not possible for the parent or guardian to raise the child at home for the following reasons (the need for childcare).

  • Cases where the applicant works for 64 hours or over in one month.
  • Cases where the applicant is undergoing long-term medical treatment due to disability or illness.
  • Cases where the applicant is seeking work (note that this is limited to the end of the month of the 90th day from the start of use).

Opening Hours

  • The basic nursery time from Monday to Saturday is from 7: 00 to 18: 00.
  • The extended nursery time from Monday to Friday is between 18:00 and 19:00.

Nursery Holidays

  1. Every Sunday, public holidays, and New Year (from 29th December to 3rd January of the following year). The facility may be closed on Saturdays if it is clear in advance that no childcare is needed.
  2. Days on which childcare is not appropriate in order to prevent outbreaks of infectious diseases and their spread.
  3. Days when childcare is not possible due to earthquakes, storm and flood damage, fires or other disasters.

Admissions

Basic Childcare

For basic childcare, applications for April entry are accepted around January.
If enrollment is not at capacity, applications are accepted at any time of the year.
Please read the Nursery School Terms of Use, then submit the required application documents to the Center for Diversity and Inclusion a minimum of one (1) month before the date from which you wish to use childcare services.

Temporary Childcare

Temporary childcare can only be provided when there are vacancies available for Basic Childcare.
Please read the Nursery School Terms of Use, then submit the required application documents to the Center for Diversity and Inclusion a minimum of fifteen (15) days before the date from which you wish to use childcare services.
*Even if the dates are undecided, please submit the required application documents and register in advance the dates you might use childcare services. This will smoothen the enrollment process for your child.

Advance Registration

Parents who are returning to work partway through the academic year may register in advance for their child to be enrolled from the month in which the parent returns to work. Please submit the required application documents to the Center for Diversity and Inclusion at least two (2) months before the date from which you wish to enroll your child (date on which you return to work) after you give birth.

Child-rearing Consultation

Support and consultation services are available if you are having concerns about matters in your daily life such as childcare.
